So, off we go with our very first box which will contain 3 excellent cheeses all produced in the Cotwolds:
Inspired by the classic French cheese Morbier, but made in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. Ashcombe is a smooth and supple cheese, with a striking line of ash running through the middle. The paste brings rich notes of hazelnuts, while the rind can offer more savoury tones.
Winner of Best English Cheese, Best Farmhouse Cheese, Best New Cheese, Best Washed Rind Cheese, and Supreme Champion at the Artisan Cheese Awards 2021.
Cotswold Organic Brie 240g
Cotswold Brie is a delicious white, soft moulded cheese, produced from Simon Weaver's organic milk. It has a rich creamy, clean and fresh taste, and while it continues to develop flavour over its life, it doesn’t become a pungent cheese. Ideal as a light lunch, perhaps with just a beautiful crisp English apple; it is equally at home on a dinner party cheese board.
Gold medal at the 2006 World Cheese Awards.
Sinodun Hill 200g
The result is a flavoursome goat's cheese with a fresh, citrus flavour which deepens as it ages to reveal almond and red fruit notes. Its creamy, mousse-like texture is particular unique and admired by Sinodun devotees. Its rind is a stunning ivory colour and seasonally develops a dusting of blue and grey moulds as it ages, which add to the flavour and character of the cheese.
Sinodun Hill won Best New Cheese at the British Artisan Cheese Awards 2017 together with Gold Medals in 2017 and 2018 and a Gold at the World Cheese Awards 2018. It also won Best New Artisan Producer at the 2017 Great British Cheese Awards.
