Job Title:          Junior Food Production Chef


Location:          Madeleine’s Bakehouse, Steep Marsh, Hampshire GU32 2BN


Contract type: Permanent


Hours:               Full time 40 hours per week worked across Mon to Fri 8.30 to 4.30 inc 20 minutes paid lunch break.


Reporting to:   Bakehouse Manager

Salary:               £21,000 per annum


Role summary:

Reporting to the Bakehouse Manager, you will be working with centrally developed standardised recipes and producing food often in high volumes. You will need to apply highly methodical organisational skills, energy, accuracy, attention to detail and be mindful of sustaining an organised and hygienic working environment.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensuring all food is prepared as per Bakehouse food preparation requirements and recipes

  • Ensuring food is produced on time & in the quantities requested

  • Ensuring food stock levels are maintained and reported to the Bakehouse Manager

  • Ensuring wastage is minimised by careful supervision of food preparation methods

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attending training courses/meetings when required

  • Taking on additional responsibilities as requested by the Management Team

  • Being knowledgeable and aware of all recognised Food Allergens

  • Following Madeleine’s Kitchen’s Health & Safety Policies and Food Safety Guidelines and adhering to their company uniform and hygiene standards at all times

  • Operating all equipment in line with company guidelines



  • Experience of working in a busy commercial kitchen

  • Have some previous experience of working with a wide range of commodities in the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes


Skills & Qualifications

  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 essential or gained within role

  • A relevant Culinary Skills, Professional Chef or Production Chef qualification at Level 2

  • A current and clean driving licence
