Position:   Sales Associate

Location:  Midhurst

Contract Type: Full/Part Time Monday to Saturday between 8.00 to 6.00 with a 20 minute unpaid lunch break.

We are recruiting for a permanent front of house Sales Associate to greet and serve customers at our Midhurst Deli working a minimum of 30 hours a week Monday to Saturday. The position would suit someone seeking a busy and varied role within a friendly and progressive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a warm welcome and exceptional customer service to all Deli customers

  • Dealing with customer queries in a professional and friendly manner

  • Sharing knowledge of the Deli Products and fresh produce with customers

  • Being part of a team that strives to exceed customer expectations and promotes customer loyalty

  • Depending on experience making barista-made coffee and hot beverages

  • Working the till system and processing card payments

  • Assisting with replenishing stock

  • Help maintain smooth day to day Deli and Retail operations in accordance with company guidance and statutory regulations

Experience and Skills needed:

  • Experience of working in a busy customer service environment is desirable

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Good organisation and communication skills.

Position:           Assistant Deli Chef

Location:          Midhurst       

Contract type:  Full/Part Time Monday to Saturday between 8.00 to 6.00 with a 20 minute unpaid lunch break.                   

Reporting to:    Deli Manager

Role summary:

  • Assist the Deli kitchen manager and kitchen staff with the production of all menu items whilst maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Food Safety Standards throughout all areas of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation of Deli sandwiches, readymade soups, meals, smoothies and baked goods

  • Slicing/Plating food for the display counter.

  • Ensuring all fridge food levels are maintained according to Madeleine’s Deli standards and are in date and rotated.

  • Ensure packaging levels are maintained.

  • Ordering essential food stocks.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attending training courses/meetings when required

  • Regular communication with the Deli/Deli Kitchen Manager

  • Taking on additional responsibilities as requested by the Management Team

  • Ensure allergen list and recipes are updated



  • Experience of working in a busy customer service kitchen

  • Some management skills

  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 essential or gained within role.
